Desertica is built on respect, safety, and honesty. Everyone taking part — first-timers and instructors alike — agrees to the following.
Respect
- Treat every person with respect, regardless of experience, gender, nationality, religion or background.
- No discrimination, harassment or bullying, in person, on the radio, or online.
- No mocking or shaming anyone who is stuck, struggling, or asking a basic question — everyone was new once.
Safety
- Follow instructor directions during courses and events.
- Never drive in a way that endangers yourself, your passengers, the group, or anyone outside it.
Honesty
- Be truthful about your skill level when booking — session levels are set for the least experienced participant, and misrepresenting your skill puts everyone at risk.
- Report incidents and near-misses honestly.
Environment & Law
- Comply with all UAE laws on and off the road, including those covering protected areas, camping, fires and wildlife.
- Carry your driving licence, vehicle registration, and insurance on every session.
Not Tolerated
The following result in immediate removal from a session and a booking ban:
- Physical assault on any person.
- Sexual harassment or assault.
- Theft.
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances.
